My Life on Earth: Personal Philosiphy Project
Deconstructing America: Rhetoric, Ideology, and the Democratic Experiment
In this project, our objective was to study the use of rhetoric in discourse to deconstruct the propaganda we see, and to become more aware induviduals of the implications of what we know to be true. This project took us the majority of the semester and in doing so the ideology had been floating along in our minds. We would look at controversial topics such as the DAPL, the war on terror, the race issue in america, and so much more. In addition, I chose the honors track, which entailed the reading of variuos chapters from Howard Zinn's book A Peoples History of The United States where we looked at the controversial parts of our America's history ranging from the horrors preformed on the indegenous peoples, to how we received help attacking britians forces on multiple fronts by multiple allies. That being said, the expression of our learning in this project was gauged by our ability to freely choose a controversial topic, and be able to completely understand the issue, enough to represent the other side, and the topic artistically.
